Email Lists - Who Can Send Emails?
Grade Level Lists - The school and the parent associations use the same lists to communicate with parents. School: At the beginning of the school year, the director of each school is asked to send in the emails of staff members who will be preapproved to send emails to parents. After that staff members who send emails and sign the email so it is clear they are a staff member will have their emails released. There are a lot of emails sent to these lists - if your email is not sent out, please have your director or front office person write an email to junedodge@gmail.com so your email address can be added.
Parent Association: Each school has a PA Communication Chair who is set up to send emails to parents. All emails should be signed so it is easy for parents to know who sent the email they are reading. Communication Chairs are encouraged to use their @hightechhigh.org email addresses when sending emails to parents. If another email address is be used, lase email junedodge@gmail.com so your email address can be added. At least once a month communication chairs need to log on to their @hightechhigh.org email address and see if there are messages waiting or/and you can also click to have the system send a holiday message.
Teaching Team Lists - The teachers from the team can send emails to the parents, additionally the teaching team parent rep can send emails. Some schools have requested that directors and/or front desk staff can also send emails to these lists.

- This is the person who helps the teachers with getting supplies, drivers, etc. In lower grade sometimes called a "room mother".
Advisory Lists - Lists have not all been set up - if there is a list, please manage the subscription yourself.

High Tech High Parent Email Distribution Lists
Communication is essential in creating a connection between your home and your child’s school.
Each of the High Tech High schools and the parent associations primarily uses parent email distribution lists to disseminate information including event reminders and updates, changes in schedules, fundraising opportunities, college meetings, social and community events, meetings, etc.
Because email distribution list is the primary method for the schools and the parent associations to communicate with parents, it is important that the email addresses that parents access on a regular basis are in our parent email distribution systems.
The initial parent email lists are made based on the information you included in the school registration form. It is important to update your email address as changes occur, so you will receive timely notices from both the schools and the parent associations. The first of the month, the email list program will send an automatic email to parents reminding them of email lists they are subscribed to and information needed for self-managing that subscription. Directions are also available on this page.
The schools also use a different system, PowerSchool, to create mailing labels or to automatically send information to parents. Teachers refer to the contact information in PowerSchool when they send emails to their classes or individual student parents. Please use the forms available at your school’s front desk, or inform Joanna Clark at jclark@hightechhigh.org of any name, address, phone or email changes. Teachers get the emails they use to email individual student's parents via PowerSchool.
After the initial lists are made, it is the parents responsibility to be sure any email changes are recorded in the both the PowerSchool System and the email distribution list system.
If you have not received an email by the third week of school, please:
- Check to be sure any email has been sent! Check the archives
- If email has been sent then:
- Check your SPAM filters on your email system to be sure you are set to accept email from any
@parentpage.org and @hightechhigh.org email address. Some email providers may require an email address to be listed in your address book before allowing delivery of messages to your inbox. (You need to put all the addresses used to communicate with parents on your 'white list' so your system does not think it's SPAM.) *Make sure you get parent email blasts click here! hthv-pa@hightechhigh.org is just one of the emails used to send emails to parents - to see the ones just for your grade level, check the archives.
- Verify your email is on the list.
- Check with your provider to be sure they have not put @hightechhigh.org on their black list.
Parents are to self-manage their subscriptions to the parent email distribution lists.

If you are unable to follow the directions successfully to ADD your email to a list, then complete the online form.

Information from this form will be processed every few weeks. The form is not available over school breaks or holidays.
In the meantime, each Monday check the archives to read the messages sent to parents.

If you are unable to follow the directions successfully to REMOVE your email, please email the Executive Assistant of your child's school.

In the body of the email, please include:
- your name,
- the email to be deleted,
- the the name of the list (grade and school),
- the reason:
- No longer using the email address,
- No longer associated with the school left school,
- No longer associated with the school graduated,
- Associated with a different school,
- Never associated with the school),
- Other (type out)
The Executive Assistant will transfer your request to a form, that will be received by the parent who is volunteering to manage the lists. Requests will be processed every few weeks, you will receive an email when the request has been processed.
